Catawba Valley Health System (CVHS) has partnered with Urgent Care of Mountain View (UCMV) to open two new urgent care locations in Catawba County. The new facilities will be situated in Sherrills Ford and the Belle Hollow shopping center in North Hickory's Viewmont area.

The Sherrills Ford location is set to open in early March within an existing CVHS facility that currently houses the Catawba Valley Family Medicine – Sherrills Ford practice. However, the urgent care services will operate separately from the family practice with different hours. Meanwhile, the Viewmont site will be located next to Fleet Feet Sports in Belle Hollow.

Urgent Care of Mountain View has been serving the Mountain View community since 2011, providing fast and affordable healthcare services. They currently have four locations across Hickory, Morganton, Newton, and Taylorsville. Their services include treatment for illnesses and injuries as well as Occupational Medicine and Workers' Compensation services such as drug screens, X-rays, DOT physicals, and TB testing.

Dennis Johnson, president and CEO of CVHS, stated: “Expansion into Urgent Care is a key piece of our growth strategy.” He emphasized UCMV's reputation for delivering efficient care with quality and compassion as a reason for their partnership.

Johnson also mentioned that if patients require more extensive care than what urgent care offers, CVHS's medical center along with its 24 primary and specialty practices would provide additional support.

Partnering with them will allow urgent care to expand its footprint to meet the better needs of the community in the greater Catawba Valley region."
