Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, North Carolina, has been recognized for its innovative use of technology to enhance patient care. The medical center received the Innovation Award from Lifepoint Health during an annual ceremony held in Nashville, Tennessee, on February 11.

The award acknowledges Frye Regional's efforts to improve hospital operations and patient care through technological advancements. Notable initiatives include adopting a new operating room schedule optimization system that has improved patient flow and staffing efficiency. Additionally, the hospital launched Cadence, a remote monitoring service for heart failure patients that has increased patient satisfaction and quality measures.

Frye Regional also serves as an alpha site for Kouper, a follow-up technology for discharged ER patients, and as a pilot site for Telesitting, a virtual care platform aimed at enhancing patient safety.

Philip Greene, MD, CEO of Frye Regional Medical Center expressed pride in receiving the award: "Our hospital is proud to receive this award, which highlights our entire team’s commitment to continuous innovation as we work to provide a higher level of care for our patients in Catawba County and the surrounding region."

The leadership team present at the award ceremony included Chief Executive Officer Philip Greene; Chief Nursing Officer Bridget Denzik; Assistant Chief Nursing Officer Rebekah Artman; Chief Medical Officer Michael Cratty; and Chief Financial Officer John Bostwick.
