City of Morganton issued the following announcement on Jan. 12.
Power has been restored! Thank you to our AWESOME electric crews!
UPDATE: It will be 2-3 hours before power is restored. East Union Street headed into town has been temporarily shutdown until repairs are finished.
Crews are working to restore power on multiple streets due to a motor vehicle accident. Streets affected include East Union St., Meeting St., Lenoir St., East Concord, Carolina St., Virginia St., Tennessee St., and surrounding areas. Crews are on scene now assessing and working on restoring power.
