TOWN OF MAIDEN: Contractor Hit a Private Waterline near Hwy 321 and Startown Rd Sept. 9

0Comments

Town of Maiden issued the following announcement on Sept. 9.

On Thursday afternoon a contractor hit a private waterline near Hwy 321 and Startown Rd. Although the line was not a part of the Maiden Water System the incident did stir up the water in a major transmission line feeding the Town of Maiden. Dingy water has entered our system throughout Thursday night and into the day on Friday.

Most of the town has seen the effects throughout the day. Maiden will continue to flush lines throughout the weekend at strategic points within the system.

No contaminates from the outside entered the water system. The water remains sterile but microparticles within the system have gotten stirred up causing the dingy water.

It is going to take time for things to settle back down. Maiden staff will continue to monitor the situation and work to ensure the situation is resolved as soon as possible.
