McHenry Statement on Passage of Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Patrick McHenry (NC-10), issued a statement after the House passage of H.R.4366, the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024.

"I applaud Speaker Johnson for his work to bring this deal together," said Congressman McHenry. "Leaders get the best results they can with the tools at their disposal. That’s exactly what Speaker Johnson did here."

McHenry further highlighted that "the bipartisan deal preserves the historic spending cuts House Republicans secured in the Fiscal Responsibility Act." Additionally, he noted that "this bipartisan spending package also includes two key provisions out of the Financial Services Committee to ensure foreign purchases of U.S. farmland are appropriately scrutinized."

These provisions, initially introduced by Congressmen Lucas and Luetkemeyer as standalone bills, received unanimous support in Committee last September. McHenry expressed his pride in supporting this bill on the House Floor.
