City of Hickory issued the following announcement on Nov. 1.
Heads up! Contractors will install new utilities and construct a new railroad crossing across 2nd Ave NW.
This work will require the closure of 2nd Ave NW from 9th St NW to 12th St NW, beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, October 31.
The section of 11th St NW between Main Ave and Old Lenoir Rd will also be closed at this time.
Detour routes for the 2nd Ave NW and 11th Street NW road closures will be established and clearly marked.
