Town of Valdese issued the following announcement on May 18.
The Foundation Forward Charters of Freedom Educational Park Dedication Ceremony will take place Friday, May 20th at 11:00 A.M. at 227 Main Street West in Downtown Valdese. Residents should be aware that this ceremony will feature seven consecutive cannon firings. These shots will be completed between approximately 11:30 A.M. and 11:45 A.M. and will be under careful supervision of the Valdese Fire and Police Departments. Faet Street will be closed for this event from approximately 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. We hope you will consider joining us for this special dedication of the Foundation Forward Charters of Freedom Educational Park.
