WILKES COUNTY SCHOOLS: Meal Changes In The Child Nutrition Department

Mealswheel

Wilkes County Schools issued the following announcement on Apr. 21.

Effective July 1st, 2022, the child nutrition department will be transitioning to a more traditional school breakfast and lunch. Elementary and middle school students will operate under the CEP program, which is a breakfast and lunch free of charge.  High school students will have to complete a Free and Reduced Form in order to qualify for free and reduced breakfast and lunch.  Although this does not go into effect until next school year, it is extremely important that families complete a Free and Reduced Form before the last day of school of this school year, which is May 25th.  Forms can be completed online or through printed copy available at your child's school.

Our child nutrition department has been happy to serve our students under the Summer Meal program for the past 2 years, but current legislation is transitioning us to a more traditional program.  We appreciate all your support.  Please contact the child nutrition department with any questions or assistance in completing the Free and Reduced form.
