Town of Hildebran issued the following announcement on Nov. 10.
The Town is looking for citizens to serve on the Comprehensive Master Plan Steering Committee!!
The NC General Statutes require local governments to base their zoning decisions on long-range plans that describe policies for land-use and growth management issues. These decisions include rezoning, transportation, economic development, housing and land-use decisions.
The Town of Hildebran Town Council last performed a Comprehensive Master Plan in May of 2010. This plan covered multiple topics including demographics, land use, transportation, utilities, economic development, natural resources, historical resources and mapping. In October 2021, Council approved moving forward with a new Comprehensive Master Plan. The new plan will cover and update these topics to reflect our current status in each of these categories.
The process to update the plan includes forming a steering committee consisting of council members, planning board members, and citizens who have backgrounds in real estate, planning, business or prior board experience with the Town. Meeting dates and times are to be determined but will be held after 5:00 p.m. during the week.
If you would like to apply to serve on the steering committee, please complete the application attached and return it to Town Hall located at 109 S. Center St., Hildebran, email it to alice.sanders@hildebranNC.org, or fax it to 828-397-7180 by December 8, 2021.
