City of Morganton issued the following announcement on Nov. 5.
The City of Morganton Public Works Department would like to remind citizens to please refrain from parking on the streets during leaf collection season as much as possible.
When cars are parked in the street, it prevents leaf collection trucks from traveling down the street and collecting leaves due to the space needed for the trucks to maneuver.
Citizens should park in driveways and on their own property as much as possible to allow for timely leaf collection. If your street is blocked by cars parked in the road, your leaves may not be collected on schedule.
