issued the following announcement on Oct. 2.
The 2020 Census count shows that the Town of Maiden’s population grew by 12.9%. With this growth comes new and exciting opportunities for our citizens. The Town of Maiden has always recognized that our strengths come from the people who make up this town such as small business owners.
Maiden is excited to welcome Vintage 28 Tap and Wine to Main St. Vintage 28 Tap and Wine will be a family-owned neighborhood bar with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
We want “Vintage 28” to be a complement to Maiden and offer a place for socialization and facilitation of comradery. Of course, we will have fun with a multitude of activities and events to keep you coming back for more...can’t wait to open the doors and get the festivities started! Says business co-owner Annette Carnevale.
Vintage 28 will be located at 28 East Main St and is projected to be open beginning of 2022.
Another exciting project coming to downtown is the expansion of Athletes Lab currently located at 11 East Boyd St. For the last year and a half Athletes Lab Performance Center has been providing youth athletes with the resources, personnel, trainers and tools necessary to develop and grow in their sport. Not every athlete is the same but their focus on the processes and the vision has led to improved confidence, attitude, mechanics, performance, and most important of all, work ethic. That work ethic has shown itself through the athletes that not only walk through the doors seven days a week but also in the athletes they have helped get into college, nationwide.
While Athletes Lab has focused on specialized training services to help athletes in the sport itself, they started discussing the importance of not just developing the player but the athlete as whole. Injury unfortunately is a by-product of being an athlete and while no one wants it to happen, it does. They decided that if they are building athletes through training then they must also teach those athletes about positive and healthy life habits. They didn’t just want to aid in recovery but prevention as well.
With this new direction they have decided to expand their facility by adding more body mobility classes, such as, yoga and access to physical therapists, nutritionists and mental health professionals. They also made the decision to not just provide these services for their athletes but anyone in the community who needs access to these resources.
To make this happen Athletes Lab has purchased the former beauty salon on Main Street, Annie’s Hair Boutique, and is currently renovating the space. They hope to be open in the next few months.
The Town of Maiden is excited to welcome these business ventures to the downtown area and is looking forward to what the ‘Town with a Future’ has in store.
