City of Hickory issued the following announcement on Sep 18.
Beginning on Thursday, September 23, city contractors will close N. Center St between Main Ave NE/NW and 1st Ave NE/NW for milling and street resurfacing. This work will take approximately four to five days to complete. During this time, on-street parking along this section of N. Center St will be unavailable. Detour routes will be established and clearly marked.
