City of Morganton issued the following announcement on Sep 18.
City crews will begin draining and performing maintenance on several water tanks next week. Work will begin Monday, September 20. There will be no interruption of service to any water customers.
Crews will be draining, inspecting, cleaning and refilling six water tanks over the course of approximately three weeks. They will begin on the Oak Hill Tank on N.C. 181, and the Astro Drive tank on Astro Drive in Salem.
If anyone sees workers on the water tanks, they need not be alarmed, as the work is planned and expected. If anyone does experience an interruption to their water service, they should report it by calling 828-438-5276.
