City of Morganton issued the following announcement on Jul. 15.
Election filing for the City of Morganton will begin at Noon on July 26, and end at Noon on Aug. 13. The open seats on the City Council that are up for election are in District 3 (incumbent Chris Hawkins) and in District 4 (incumbent Wendy Cato). The filing fee is $20.
