Local organizations or individuals that have made a positive impact in the City of Hickory have a chance to win a 2020 Human Relations award.
The city’s Community Relations Council is accepting nominations for the 2020 awards, the city said in a November release about the upcoming honors.
The awards committee accepts nominations for any individuals or organizations/businesses that community members believe have excelled in making Hickory a better place for human relations, the city said in the release.
“We are fortunate to live in a community where there are so many individuals and organizations making a positive difference,” Community Relations Chairwoman Mandy Pitts Hildebrand said in the release. “We hope to receive many nominations this year and ask citizens to reflect on the past year and think about that person, organization, or business they saw promoting inclusive relationships within our community.”
Nomination applications are available online and are due Thursday, Dec. 10, the release said. Award winners will be recognized at the Human Relations Awards event in 2021 — date to be determined.
