Burke County issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.
FONTA FLORA TRAIL IS OPEN!
The Fonta Flora Trail segments between Harris Whisnant Road and Lake James State Park are open for hiking and biking. The trails were recently closed to allow them to dry out after the heavy rains in Burke County.
