City of Hickory issued the following announcement on June 17.
Main Avenue NE road closure
As construction of the City Walk’s pedestrian bridge across N.C. 127 continues, contractors will be moving the large crane to the east side of the bridge. This will necessitate the closure of Main Avenue NE from Second Street NE to First Avenue NE on Thursday, June 18, and part of the day on Friday, June 19. The roadway should be reopened by lunchtime on Friday.
