Congressman Pat Harrigan, who secured his seat in the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., has voiced concerns on social media regarding U.S. national security and technological competition with foreign adversaries.

On November 4, 2025, Harrigan endorsed a recent presidential decision concerning advanced technology exports. He stated, “.@POTUS absolutely made the right call blocking Nvidia’s request to sell advanced AI chips to China.

Giving our biggest adversary access to cutting-edge American AI technology would hand them the tools to surpass us in military systems, surveillance, and autonomous weapons.”

Later that day, Harrigan commented on developments in modern warfare involving unmanned aerial vehicles. He wrote on November 4, 2025: “Ukraine built a point-based drone system to keep pace with combat, and it delivered 18,000 enemy casualties in a single month.

That kind of warfare is coming, and America isn’t ready for it. Right now, we have no capacity to build drones at scale while our adversaries produce”

In another post from November 4, 2025, Harrigan raised concerns about global energy trends and U.S. policy. He stated: “It should worry every American that China, Russia, and Iran are investing heavily in nuclear power while the United States builds nothing.

Our energy policy has become a vulnerability that our adversaries are eager to exploit.

I fought to change that by passing an NDAA”

Harrigan’s statements reflect ongoing debates over export controls on advanced technologies such as AI chips and their potential impact on international military balance. The mention of Ukraine’s use of drones underscores evolving methods of warfare and questions about U.S. industrial readiness compared to other nations.

His remarks about nuclear energy investments by China, Russia, and Iran highlight broader strategic competition in the energy sector. According to election results from 2024, Harrigan won his congressional seat by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr., receiving approximately 57.5% of the vote.
