Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., used his social media platform on September 11, 2025, to comment on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks and offer criticism of the Democratic Party.
In a post made at 13:02 UTC, Harrigan reflected on the impact of the September 11 attacks and their aftermath. He stated, “On September 11, 2001, 2,977 Americans were murdered in the deadliest terrorist attack on our soil. In the years that followed, more than 7,000 U.S. servicemembers gave their lives in the fight that began that day.
24 years later, we honor them by keeping the promise we”.
Later that day at 14:01 UTC, Harrigan posted another message criticizing Democratic policies. He wrote, “These two photos say everything you need to know about the Democrat Party’s vision for America. At 14:30 UTC on September 11th, he continued his critique by stating,“They preach unity while practicing division. That’s today’s Democrat Party.
And that’s exactly why Republicans are furious. Because if all you knew about American politics was how each side reacts to the death of their opponents, it would take seconds to see which side has”.
Pat Harrigan’s statements come as he serves in Congress after winning his seat in November 2024 with approximately 57.5% of votes against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., who received around 38.2%. The remarks reflect ongoing partisan debate regarding national security and party values in American politics since events like those commemorated on September 11th.
