Congressman Pat Harrigan, who represents North Carolina’s 10th congressional district, posted a series of updates on December 19, 2025, addressing both state and district matters.

In a message shared early in the day, Harrigan commented on the passing of former Governor Jim Hunt. He wrote, “Today has been a heavy one for North Carolina. We’re now mourning the loss of Jim Hunt, a governor whose leadership helped shape this state for decades. A life devoted to public service, and a loss felt across our state tonight. My thoughts are with his family and with everyone” (December 19, 2025).

Later that afternoon, Harrigan reflected on his first year in office representing North Carolina’s 10th district. He stated, “Year one delivering for #NC10. Thank you for trusting me to represent you in Congress.” (December 19, 2025).

In another post later that evening, Harrigan announced internship opportunities at his district office: “Our #NC10 district office is hiring interns for the upcoming semester. This is an opportunity to gain meaningful experience in public service while helping constituents and learning how Congress operates. Interested students and recent graduates can apply at: https://t.co/qKxc36obur” (December 19, 2025).

Pat Harrigan was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr., securing approximately 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%. His tenure marks continued Republican representation in North Carolina’s 10th congressional district.
