Congressman Pat Harrigan, a member of the House Science Committee, recently posted a series of statements on social media highlighting his positions on space exploration, economic development, and immigration policy.

On July 21, 2025, Harrigan commemorated the anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon landing. He stated, “56 years ago, Apollo 11 made history when Neil Armstrong took humanity’s first step on the Moon. As a member of @HouseScience, I’m proud to support @NASAArtemis as we build on that legacy by returning to the Moon and paving the way to Mars.”

The following day, Harrigan commented on a major investment in North Carolina’s biotechnology sector. On July 22, he wrote, “.@Biogen just invested $2 billion to create high-skilled jobs and expand biotech manufacturing in North Carolina. That kind of investment is possible because @POTUS’s tax cuts, deregulation, and supply chain reforms are reviving American industry.” Biogen is an international biotechnology company with significant operations in North Carolina.

Later that same day, Harrigan addressed federal funding for cities that do not comply with federal immigration laws. He posted, “Cities that defy federal immigration law and let rioters destroy infrastructure shouldn’t get a penny from taxpayers to clean up the mess. I cosponsored @RepDustyJohnson’s No DOT Funds for Sanctuary Cities Act to make sure they don’t.” The No DOT Funds for Sanctuary Cities Act is legislation aimed at withholding Department of Transportation funds from so-called sanctuary cities.

Harrigan represents North Carolina in Congress and serves on committees focused on science and technology policy.
