Congressman Pat Harrigan has recently shared updates on border security and legislative initiatives through a series of posts on his official X (formerly Twitter) account. Harrigan, who secured victory in the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr. with 57.5% of the vote, highlighted significant changes in migration trends and discussed his support for new legislation targeting fentanyl trafficking.
On January 20, 2026, Harrigan posted: “A year ago, the border was a national failure. Today, the numbers tell a very different story:
Border crossings down 93% year over year
ZERO releases for 7 consecutive months
Negative net migration for the first time in 50 years
622,000 illegal aliens removed
1.9″. The post emphasized what he described as major improvements at the U.S. border compared to previous years.
The following day, January 21, Harrigan encouraged followers to tune into an upcoming event with: “Tune in at 11:15AM ET! https://t.co/qFwTZQr41J”.
Later that same day, Harrigan expressed support for anti-fentanyl legislation: “Proud to cosponsor @RepMcDowell’s PRESS Act.
Cartels turned fentanyl into an industrial operation by exploiting loopholes in our laws, and this legislation cuts off the machinery at the center of it. https://t.co/QmJXLDvWQg“.
Harrigan’s recent statements come after his electoral win in North Carolina’s congressional race in 2024 against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., where he received approximately 57.5% of the vote.
