Congressman Pat Harrigan has recently addressed several national security and defense issues in a series of posts on his social media account.

On April 15, 2026, Harrigan commented on an unspecified incident by stating, “Disturbing, but not surprising. Cases like this are exactly what my SECURE STEM Act was written to stop, because if you are tied to a hostile government, you should never have gotten through the door in the first place.”

Later that day, Harrigan highlighted concerns regarding military maintenance and contractor reliance. On April 16, 2026, Harrigan commented on developments in Japan’s defense policy: “Japan just made one of the most consequential defense policy shifts since the end of World War II, and the ripple effects across the Pacific will be significant. A country that produces its own submarines, missiles, and combat aircraft just entered the global arms market at”

Pat Harrigan won his congressional seat by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in the 2024 general election with approximately 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%.
