Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., recently shared updates on his official X (formerly Twitter) account covering topics from national security to local economic development.

On August 12, 2025, Harrigan highlighted public interest in border security by stating, “Over 100,000 Americans applied to join ICE in just two weeks. The American people want their country secured!”

Later that day, Harrigan commented on U.S. involvement in international conflict and its financial implications. He posted on August 12, 2025: “Putin’s goal is to keep America in the war for as long as possible, and we can’t let that happen. Every $50,000 drone they send forces a $1M U.S. missile in response, pushing us toward the kind of financial collapse Reagan once forced on the Soviets.”

In a separate post on August 12, 2025, Harrigan addressed local economic development initiatives: “Great to be with Hickory and Burke County leaders celebrating the new hangars at Hickory Regional Airport. It’s going to mean more jobs, more investment, and more opportunity for folks here at home.”

Harrigan serves as a U.S. Congressman after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in the 2024 general election with approximately 57.5% of the vote.
