Congressman Pat Harrigan, who represents Western North Carolina and won his seat in the 2024 general election, recently posted a series of tweets addressing local disaster recovery efforts and national political commentary.
On September 17, 2025, Harrigan shared details about ongoing recovery from Hurricane Helene. He wrote, “Had a productive meeting with @NC_Governor today on Hurricane Helene recovery. Nearly a year later, families and small businesses in Western North Carolina are still picking up the pieces, and everyone agrees that both the state and federal government need to work faster.”
Later that evening, he posted another message consisting only of three target emojis: “” (September 17, 2025).
In a subsequent tweet on the same date, Harrigan commented on recent developments related to Charlie Kirk’s assassin. He stated, “From the start, it was clear Charlie Kirk’s assassin was a radical leftist. The left denied it, @jimmykimmel mocked it, and now he’s the punchline he could never write.”
Pat Harrigan secured his congressional seat by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in the 2024 general election with 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%. As a representative for Western North Carolina, Harrigan has been vocal about disaster response efforts following Hurricane Helene and has used social media platforms to address both local issues and broader political topics.
