Congressman Pat Harrigan has used his social media platform to comment on a range of current issues, including public health emergencies, international security concerns, and voter registration policies. Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr. with 57.5% of the vote, addressed these topics in a series of posts on February 17, 2026.

In one post dated February 17, 2026, Harrigan criticized Senate Democrats regarding disaster funding and immigration policy: “More than a billion gallons of sewage in the Potomac, @fema responding to a real public health crisis, and @SenateDems are blocking funding for the agency because they oppose deporting illegal aliens.

They’re choosing to protect people here illegally over fully funding disaster”.

Later that day, Harrigan commented on tensions in the Middle East involving Iran: “When Tehran suspends shipping traffic and signals it can shut down the strait at will, it is reminding the world that its nuclear program, its missile capability, and its regional aggression are all connected.

Any deal that ignores that reality is not serious.”

On the same date, he also weighed in on voting regulations in North Carolina: “Of course Democrats are applauding something the overwhelming majority of Americans disagree with.

Tens of thousands of registrations without basic identifying information stay on the rolls, even though North Carolina requires ID to vote and 83% of the country supports proof of”.

Harrigan’s comments come as he continues his term following his victory over Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in 2024 by a margin of nearly 20 percentage points.
