Congressman Pat Harrigan has recently shared a series of posts on his official X account, addressing topics ranging from U.S. military policy to economic claims about the Trump administration and criticism of North Carolina’s governor.

On September 8, 2025, Harrigan wrote, “We’ve been fighting endless wars under the soft name of the Department of Defense. It’s past time to call it what it really is—the @DeptofWar—because America doesn’t exist to defend against enemies, but to defeat them.”

The following day, September 9, 2025, he commented on former President Donald Trump’s economic record by stating, “Once again, Trump did NOT inherit a strong economy.”

Later that same day, Harrigan criticized North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper in response to law enforcement actions involving a repeat offender. He posted: “.@NC_Governor, the cops did their job—FOURTEEN times. They arrested Iryna Zarutska’s killer again and again, only for your policies to put him right back on the street. For you to now claim the answer is hiring more officers insults the ones who already did their duty. You failed”

Pat Harrigan won his seat in Congress after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in the 2024 general election with 57.5% of the vote.
