Congressman Pat Harrigan has used his social media platform to comment on foreign policy and recent legislative actions, while also addressing claims regarding government shutdowns and national defense funding.

On October 16, 2025, Harrigan posted a short message confirming the accuracy of an unspecified claim: “Fact check: TRUE https://t.co/B3hhnFZLy9”.

The following day, on October 17, 2025, he addressed U.S. foreign policy in Latin America and China’s influence in the region. Harrigan wrote: “China is conquering Latin America while Washington sleeps, turning our allies against us through bribes and broken promises. President Trump sees it clearly and he’s taking decisive action to counter their economic warfare in our own hemisphere. https://t.co/MpEKLQEaX0”.

Later that same day, Harrigan commented on congressional voting patterns related to government funding and defense. He stated: “Democrats have voted 11 times to shut down the government, blocking pay for our troops, Border Patrol, TSA agents, and air traffic controllers. Yesterday they went even further and rejected a bipartisan bill to fund national defense. Five Senate Democrats can end this right”.

Pat Harrigan was elected to Congress after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in the 2024 general election with 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%.
