Congressman Pat Harrigan has used his social media platform to comment on international legal issues, U.S. foreign policy toward Iran, and recent changes to tax policy in the United States.
On April 12, 2026, Harrigan referenced prosecutions of British Special Air Service (SAS) soldiers related to The Troubles in Northern Ireland. He stated, “.@elonmusk this is also happening in the UK with the SAS and the Troubles prosecutions. All of it needs to stop.
It shouldn’t be happening there, and we can never let it happen here.
Under a different administration, it could happen here to our heroes. That’s why @SenJoniErnst https://t.co/5Q7J59haPU“.
The following day, on April 13, 2026, Harrigan addressed concerns about Iran’s relationship with the United States. He wrote, “These are common sense asks for any country not in the business of terrorism and actively trying to destroy America.
The bar is on the floor and Iran still can’t clear it.”
Later that same day, he commented on recent tax policy changes affecting American workers ahead of Tax Day: “This Wednesday is Tax Day and for the first time in years, people like her are getting money back instead of writing a check.
No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, average refunds up 11%, and every Democrat in Congress voted against it.”
Harrigan was elected to Congress after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in the 2024 general election by a margin of 57.5% to 38.2%.
