Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won his seat in 2024 by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr., has recently commented on U.S. foreign policy and military strategy in a series of posts on social media.

On August 20, 2025, Harrigan praised former President Donald Trump’s diplomatic efforts in Europe, stating, “President Trump’s Europe summit was a masterclass in diplomacy. By putting America First and uniting the West, he has charted a credible path to lasting peace and once again proven himself the peacemaker-in-chief.”

Later that day, Harrigan addressed U.S. defense spending and modernization: “For too long, we’ve bought yesterday’s technology with tomorrow’s dollars. This administration is ending that by building a force that wins wars and makes our adversaries think twice about starting one.”

On August 21, 2025, he criticized European governments for their financial dealings amid the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine: “Europe has poured €21.9B into Putin’s war chest while sending only €18.7B to Ukraine. Washington will not be lectured by governments that bankroll both sides of this war.”

Pat Harrigan secured his congressional seat after winning the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., earning 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%.
