Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., recently commented on the U.S. military operation that led to the capture of Nicolás Maduro and reflected on the legacy of a fellow congressman.
On January 4, 2026, Harrigan wrote, “As a former Special Operator, I’ll say this plainly: no military in the world could have executed the operation that captured Nicolás Maduro the way the United States did.”
The following day, he addressed Maduro’s legal history and President Biden’s role in recent events: “Nicolás Maduro has been under U.S. indictment for years on narco-terrorism and cocaine trafficking charges tied to the deaths of tens of thousands of Americans. @POTUS’s action ensures he finally faces justice for those crimes.” These remarks follow years of U.S. legal actions against Maduro related to drug trafficking and narco-terrorism.
On January 6, Harrigan expressed condolences over a colleague’s passing: “Deeply saddened by the loss of Congressman Doug LaMalfa. Keeping his wife, children, and team in my prayers during this incredibly difficult time.”
Pat Harrigan was elected to Congress after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in 2024 with 57.5% of the vote.
