Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., has recently shared a series of statements on his social media account addressing historical narratives, energy policy, and U.S. space exploration efforts.
On October 19, 2025, Harrigan commented on shifting political attitudes toward the Founding Fathers: “Fascinating watching the same party that called the Founders racist slave owners, tore down their statues, and rewrote history curriculum to focus on their sins suddenly claim to be their ideological heirs.
You can’t cancel history one day and cosplay it the next.”
The following day, Harrigan addressed domestic energy issues in a post dated October 20, 2025: “Energy production
Gas prices
America First energy policies make us more secure, create good-paying jobs here at home, and lower costs for North Carolina families.”
Later that same day, he also weighed in on lunar exploration policy: “.@SecDuffy is absolutely right to open the moon mission to multiple competitors.
China is racing to 2030, and relying on a single contractor is how you lose when the stakes are permanent control of space-based defense and trillion-dollar resources.”
Harrigan’s recent posts come after his victory in the 2024 general election over Ralph R. Scott, Jr., where he secured approximately 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%. The Congressman represents North Carolina and has positioned himself as an advocate for increased domestic energy production and competitive approaches to national projects such as lunar missions.
