Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., posted a series of statements on September 15, 2025, addressing issues related to university accountability, national security, and U.S. foreign policy.
In a post directed at the University of Pennsylvania, Harrigan wrote on September 15: “.@Penn doesn’t get to hide behind statements or hand-waving. Fire him. Make it clear that celebrating political murder disqualifies you from teaching a single American kid. If they keep him on payroll, they own every word he posted.”
Later the same day, Harrigan commented on U.S. foreign policy and national security in another post: “When the United States projects strength abroad, families at home sleep safer.” This statement reflects ongoing debates about the relationship between international posture and domestic safety.
Harrigan also marked the anniversary of a significant diplomatic achievement by writing: “Five years ago today, @POTUS did what the experts said could never happen: he brokered peace in the Middle East. The Abraham Accords brought Israel and Arab nations to the same table, proving that American strength can make possible what the foreign policy class never even” The Abraham Accords were agreements reached in 2020 that normalized relations between Israel and several Arab states.
Harrigan was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr., receiving 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%.
