Congressman Pat Harrigan has recently addressed concerns about China’s involvement in two major international issues through a series of posts on his social media account. The statements, made on September 2 and 3, 2025, focus on the threat posed by Chinese fentanyl producers and the country’s support for Russia’s drone capabilities.

On September 2, Harrigan wrote: “China’s fentanyl producers are fueling the deadliest crisis facing young Americans, killing more than car accidents, cancer, or guns. Which is exactly why I just voted for the Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act to sanction Beijing’s producers and the officials who let this poison flow”.

The following day, he highlighted concerns over China’s technological collaboration with Russia: “China is building Russia’s drone fleet today, and they can turn the same technology against America tomorrow. Anyone who thinks this stops in Ukraine isn’t paying enough attention.”

In a separate post later that morning, Harrigan quoted Benjamin Franklin: “‘Well done is better than well said.’ – Benjamin Franklin”.

Pat Harrigan secured his congressional seat after defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in the 2024 general election with 57.5% of the vote to Scott’s 38.2%. His recent statements come amid ongoing debates in Congress regarding U.S.-China relations and efforts to curb fentanyl trafficking as well as foreign military technology transfers.
