Congressman Pat Harrigan, a former Green Beret and U.S. Representative, used his social media platform on March 10 and 11, 2026, to address national security concerns related to Taiwan, military supply chains, and domestic border security.

On March 10, Harrigan warned about the vulnerability of Taiwan’s power infrastructure in relation to China. He stated, “Beijing doesn’t need to fire a single shot to cripple Taiwan, they just need to cut the power. Today I introduced a bill that strips them of that option by redirecting U.S. LNG exports, protecting shipping lanes with federal war risk insurance, and standing up a U.S.-Taiwan” (March 10, 2026).

Later that day, he reflected on his military experience and discussed the risks associated with foreign reliance for critical defense equipment. Harrigan posted, “As a Green Beret, I depended on my gear with my life. If that gear failed, people died. Leaving our warfighters dependent on foreign supply chains for mission-critical equipment is a national security threat, plain and simple. The Berry Amendment exists to fix that, and https://t.co/etYsze6j62” (March 10, 2026).

On March 11, Harrigan criticized Democratic lawmakers over their handling of Department of Homeland Security funding. He wrote: “Democrats are continuing to hold @DHSgov hostage, leaving our borders, airports, and cities more vulnerable every single day they refuse to act. This is political theater with real consequences for real Americans.” (March 11, 2026).

Pat Harrigan was elected to Congress in 2024 after defeating Ralph R. Scott Jr., securing approximately 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%.
