Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won his seat in the 2024 general election by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr., has recently addressed several national issues through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On December 16, 2025, Harrigan criticized Senator Chuck Schumer’s approach to the opioid crisis, writing: “What should turn your stomach, @SenSchumer, is the 100,000+ Americans dying every year from overdoses while politicians like you wring your hands about protecting the people killing them. These narco-terrorists poisoned more Americans last year than we lost in the entire Vietnam”.

Later that same day, Harrigan highlighted his legislative actions regarding energy reliability: “Voted today for the Power Plant Reliability Act to prevent surprise power plant shutdowns that put our grid at risk. If a major plant is going offline, regulators should know before it happens, not after. Families and businesses shouldn’t be dealing with rolling blackouts”.

On December 17, 2025, Harrigan commented on U.S. military deployments overseas: “When we lose Guardsmen overseas, we have to ask hard questions: Is the mission clear enough? Is it worth the risk we’re asking ordinary Americans to carry? Our presence abroad has to match a clear purpose, not just institutional inertia.”

Pat Harrigan assumed office after winning approximately 57.5% of votes against Ralph R. Scott, Jr.’s 38.2% in the 2024 general election.
