Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., recently used his social media platform to address issues facing service members and National Guard troops.

On March 24, 2026, Harrigan praised the deployment of National Guard troops for domestic security purposes, stating: “We asked National Guard troops to secure the border and protect American cities, and they are answering the call every single day. @POTUS and @SecWar absolutely made the right call ensuring they receive the same healthcare, housing, and education benefits as every other active”.

Later that day, Harrigan highlighted challenges faced by service members when relocating: “When a service member gets orders to move, they are not just packing boxes. They are figuring out a new housing market, a new VA loan, and hoping they don’t run into a predatory lender in the process. Nobody who serves this country should have to navigate that alone, and that”.

In another post on March 24, he expressed admiration for emerging leaders: “Hard to read this and not feel incredibly proud of the next generation of American leaders.”

Pat Harrigan secured his seat in Congress by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr. in 2024 with 57.5% of the vote compared to Scott’s 38.2%. This electoral victory positioned him as a key voice on military and veterans’ affairs within his district.
