Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won the 2024 general election against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., has recently shared a series of posts on his official Twitter account addressing legislative actions, public safety measures, and local governance concerns.

On January 22, 2026, Harrigan expressed support for recent legislative action by stating, “America is a nation of laws, and this is us finally acting like it. Proud to have just voted YES to end the chaos, reassert the rule of law, and put the safety and sovereignty of this country first.”

The following day, on January 23, 2026, he provided an update regarding severe weather conditions in North Carolina: ” Winter Weather Update for North Carolina Winter weather is moving into North Carolina, and a state of emergency has been declared. Ice and freezing temperatures could make travel dangerous, especially overnight and early in the morning. Before heading out, please check https://t.co/CZP32UZhjF”

Later that same day, Harrigan criticized municipal spending on automated traffic enforcement systems: “Cities are spending public tax dollars to install automated cameras that exist primarily to generate fines from the same people who paid for them. There’s no judgment, no discretion, and no real connection to public safety. These cameras function as a cash register on a pole,”

Harrigan’s statements come after his victory in the 2024 general election where he secured 57.5% of the vote against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., reflecting significant support within his constituency.
