Congressman Pat Harrigan has recently addressed several national concerns in a series of posts on his social media account, focusing on foreign investment in U.S. real estate, economic growth, and naval shipbuilding challenges.

On July 30, 2025, Harrigan drew attention to the rise in property purchases by Chinese nationals, stating, “Foreign purchases of U.S. homes by Chinese nationals are up 83% since last year, part of the CCP’s growing push to expand inside our country. I co-sponsored @RepMaryMiller’s Protecting Our Farms and Homes from China Act to help confront this threat and keep American land in”. This statement highlights legislative efforts aimed at restricting foreign ownership of American land.

Later that day, Harrigan commented on recent economic indicators: “The economy grew 3% while inflation held at 2%. That gap means your paycheck holds value, your bills don’t eat your raise, and the system isn’t working against you for once.” His remarks reflect ongoing discussions about the relationship between wage growth and inflation rates.

On July 31, 2025, Harrigan discussed military readiness and technological advancement: “The One Big Beautiful Bill puts $450 million toward using AI in Navy shipbuilding: U.S. warships are delayed by years and billions over budget China builds more ships in a year than we’ve built since WWII Our fleet is shrinking as our adversarial threats are growing”. He emphasized delays and cost overruns in domestic shipbuilding compared to China’s output.

Harrigan represents North Carolina’s 10th congressional district. In the 2024 general election, he defeated Ralph R. Scott, Jr., securing approximately 57.5% of the vote.
