Congressman Pat Harrigan, who won his seat in 2024 by defeating Ralph R. Scott, Jr., recently addressed several national issues on his social media account, including congressional oversight of U.S. taxpayer dollars, recognition of military service members, and an assessment of the current administration’s performance.

On August 7, 2025, Harrigan voiced support for Senator Tom Cotton’s scrutiny over financial ties between U.S. taxpayer funds and the Chinese Communist Party. He stated, “.@SenTomCotton is doing exactly what Congress should be doing—following the money and demanding answers when U.S. taxpayer dollars end up tied to the Chinese Communist Party. @Intel’s board has some explaining to do.”

Later that day, Harrigan marked Purple Heart Day with a message honoring military personnel who have been wounded or killed in service. He wrote on August 7, 2025: “The Purple Heart is earned by those who’ve borne the weight of war so others didn’t have to. Today, we honor their courage and the freedom they’ve made possible.”

In a subsequent post on August 7, 2025, Harrigan commented on President Biden’s administration after its first 200 days: “200 days in, and @POTUS is doing exactly what he promised!”

Harrigan represents his district after winning the general election in 2024 with 57.5% of the vote against Ralph R. Scott, Jr., according to official results.
