One young man is gone, another threw his life away, and an entire generation is being poisoned by the glorification of hate and violence. That should make every American furious!”
Later that day, Harrigan posted about the boundaries of free speech in relation to recent events: “Free speech protects you from the government, NOT from consequences. Anyone entrusted with shaping young Americans who cheers an assassination has NO place in the classroom.” This statement appeared to address reactions within educational environments following the incident.
