Faith Carrigan, who previously starred at Alexander Central High School, pitched for the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears as they defeated the UNC Pembroke Braves 5-1 in an NCAA Division II softball game on Monday, March 9, at 4:30 p.m.
Shena Hollar Softball Camps hosted the contest, marking the teams’ second meeting this season. The Bears also earned a close 4-3 win in their earlier matchup on Monday, March 9.
Carrigan went seven innings, allowing one earned run and collecting four strikeouts.
The Bears’ next matchup will be on Monday, March 16, at 2 p.m. against the Francis Marion Patriots at FMU Softball Stadium.
