Hickory Police Department issued the following announcement on Apr. 19.

If you are considering a career in law enforcement or telecommunications, the Hickory Police Department is hosting an Open House on May 2, 2022!

Participates will be introduced to some of our officers and staff and will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the many opportunities available to them with our department.

Guests will be given a guided tour of the department and enjoy a demonstration from our K-9 Unit as well as a presentation from our Special Operations Team.

The Hickory Police Department has several open positions for aspiring and experienced officers and telecommunicators. Our department offers training for both positions once hired.

Experience is preferred, however, those new to the profession will receive the training needed to succeed, including the chance to have BLET paid for by our department.

There are many opportunities to grow within our department including positions with the K-9 Unit, Criminal Investigations Division, Narcotics Unit, Drone Unit, Special Operations Team, and more.

Benefits for all full-time employees at our department include health insurance, 401(K), and 11 paid holidays.

Find out more during our Open House! Doors open at 6 p.m. on May 2, 2022. No RSVP necessary. Just come to the Hickory Police department located at 347 2nd Avenue SW and sign-in.
