Frye Regional Medical Center announced on Apr. 1 that Emily Miller, MSN, CNM, a board-certified nurse midwife, has joined its medical staff. Miller will provide care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and is focused on supporting women through all stages of life.
The addition of Miller to the team highlights the center’s ongoing commitment to patient-centered care in women’s health. Her experience includes working as a registered nurse at Frye Regional where she supported patients during labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum care.
Miller was recognized with the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses in 2024. The DAISY Award is an international recognition created by the DAISY Foundation to honor nurses who deliver exceptional care during challenging moments for patients and families.
Her educational background includes a Master of Science in Nursing and Certified Nurse Midwife training from Frontier Nursing University in Versailles, Kentucky. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Appalachian State University and an associate degree from Catawba Valley Community College. Miller maintains professional memberships with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) and holds certifications in Electronic Fetal Monitoring, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
“I’m excited to join FryeCare Women’s Services and care for women and families in the community I’ve already had the privilege of serving as a nurse,” said Miller. “Supporting patients through important moments in their lives and helping them feel informed, confident and cared for is what drew me to midwifery.”
Miller is now seeing patients at FryeCare Women’s Services at 1781 Tate Blvd., Suite 201 in Hickory.
