Frye Regional Medical Center, part of Duke LifePoint, has appointed Lindy White as its new chief executive officer. Her term will begin on February 26.
White is returning to Frye Regional after previously serving as the hospital’s chief operating officer. Most recently, she held the position of interim CEO at another Duke LifePoint facility in eastern North Carolina, where she focused on operational improvements and physician engagement during a period of transition.
The appointment comes as Frye Regional continues to receive recognition for its performance and patient care. In 2025, U.S. News & World Report named the hospital a High Performing Hospital for Pacemaker Implantation. The hospital also received several American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines awards for cardiovascular care and earned eight Healthgrades clinical quality distinctions. It holds key accreditations such as designation as a Primary Stroke Center and advanced heart failure accreditation. Last year, Frye Regional completed renovations to its Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit to expand recovery services.
Elmer Polite, eastern division president for Lifepoint Health, commented on White’s return: “Lindy is a steady, experienced leader who understands Frye Regional, the medical staff and the Hickory community. She knows this hospital well and brings a practical, collaborative approach to leadership that supports both our team members and our patients.”
During her earlier time at Frye Regional, White contributed to operational improvements and service line development. She has worked closely with physicians and teams to foster collaboration and patient-centered care.
White expressed her perspective on rejoining the organization: “I am honored to return to Frye Regional Medical Center,” said White. “This organization has a proud history of serving the Hickory community, and I believe strongly in the strength of our physicians, employees and leadership team. Together, we will continue advancing quality, expanding access to care and investing in the programs that matter most to our patients.”
She succeeds Philip Greene, MD, who recently stepped down from his role as CEO.
