EnergyUnited will provide more than $43,000 in Bright Ideas education funds to support engaging classroom learning projects.
The grants will go to 40 teachers, including Zachary Richardson at Wittenburg Elementary in Alexander County, EnergyUnited said in the release about the grants. Richardson will receive $900.
Teachers in Cabarrus, Davie, Davidson, Forsyth, Guilford, Iredell, Rockingham and Rowan counties also received grants.
“EnergyUnited is very proud to support our educators’ continued efforts to innovate in the classroom, whether in person or virtually, even as our communities respond to the many challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic,” EnergyUnited Communications Manager Maureen Moore said in a November release.
The Bright Ideas grant plan began in 1994. Since that date, EnergyUnited has donated more than nearly $900,000 to teachers and other educators in the state.
“Investing in the education of our youth and future leaders is just one way in which EnergyUnited demonstrates its resounding commitment to community,” Moore said in the press release.
