In the week ending Dec. 27, 2025, two gas stations in Burke County sold diesel gas at the lowest reported price of $2.99 per gallon, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.
Countywide, diesel gas averaged $3.24 per gallon.
Among 59 gas stations in cities within Burke County, 14 offered diesel gas.
The average reported price for a gallon of diesel gas in North Carolina was $3.42, down from the previous week.
U.S. gas prices continue to decline after reaching their lowest level since 2021, according to GasBuddy. The group projects the national average could dip below $2.80 per gallon during the holiday period, driven by increased oil production and lower seasonal demand.
