County of Burke issued the following announcement on Mar. 3.

The Burke County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6:00 p.m. on March 15, 2022 in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room, Burke Services Building located at 110 N. Green St. in Morganton, NC (Door E). At the meeting the Board will take public comment regarding the following zoning matter:

Rezoning Request – ZMA 2022-01

Applicants: Mickey Evans – A request to rezone a 1.15-acre parcel of land from the Residential Two (R-2) Zoning District to the General Business (G-B) District.  Property ID’s (PIN# 2773135760) (REID# 59577).  The property is vacant and located at the end of Ashton Dr. in the Icard Township. 

Questions regarding the rezoning request may be directed to the Community Development Department at 828-764-9033.  If reasonable ADA accommodations are needed to participate in the public hearing, please contact the County Manager’s office by March 13th at 828-764-9350.
