County of Burke issued the following announcement on Feb. 25.

The next Burke County Reappraisal is scheduled to become effective January 1, 2023.  Burke County has retained Pearson’s Appraisal Service to conduct on-site reviews of all residential structures.  They began these reviews February 17th.   For each location, reappraisal staff will knock on the door, identify who they are, ask the owner a few questions, and then begin their review.  Reappraisal staff do not enter homes.  The review will consist of measuring the outside of all structures and taking a couple of photos.  This process only takes around 10-15 minutes for a typical home.  All staff will have a photo ID and a clearly marked vehicle.     For additional information concerning the reappraisal process go to www.burkenctax.com and click on the Revaluation tab.
