County of Burke issued the following announcement on Jan. 30.

Burke County Community Development is announcing the revision of the Short-Term Rental Ordinance.

 The current Short-Term Rental Ordinance was adopted on June 15, 2021, as part of the county wide revision of the Burke County Zoning Ordinance.

This will be the first minor revision since the ordinance adoption. The new Short-Term Rental draft will bring the current document into conformance with updates to the statewide unified zoning laws, Chapter 160D of the North Carolina General Statute. 

The County encourages all residents, business owners, and property owners to review the draft document and submit their comments.

The Community Development Department will host an open, drop-in meeting for the public to review and comment on the Short-Term Rental Ordinance revision on January 31, 2023, in the Commissioners’ Meeting Room at 110 North Green Street, Door E, during the following time:
